Douglas Clark (64) of East Haddam, CT passed away unexpectedly at his home on Wednesday, June 7, 2017. He was born in Lewiston, Maine on January 27, 1953 and was the son of the late George H. Clark, Jr. and the late Rolande J. Clark. He is survived by the love of his life, Betsey Borg. He and Betsey were married on October 14, 1983 in Portland, CT. He is also survived by his brother Daniel G. Clark and his wife, Susan, of Coventry, Barbara Matton and her husband, Peter, of Florida and Maine, William Clark and his wife, Beverly, of Glastonbury, and Deborah Carter and her husband, Mark of East Hartford. He leaves behind many adoring nieces and nephews. Formally of East Hartford, Doug was a graduate of the former George J. Penney High School where he enjoyed playing football. He was an avid hunter and enjoyed his free time hunting deer and taking trips to hunt boar and caribou with his favorite dogs, Abby and Mabel, by his side. Doug and Betsy shared a menagerie of animals on their farm which included horses, goats, sheep and chickens. Doug worked in property management for more than 30 years. Doug was the kindest and most generous man to his mother, brothers, sisters, nieces and nephews. There are no words that express this loss. Friends and family may call at the Portland Memorial Funeral Home, 231 Main Street, Portland, CT on Tuesday, June 13th from 5:00 to 7:00 pm. Funeral Services will be at the Zion Lutheran Church, 183 William Street, Portland, CT on Wednesday, June 14th at 10:00am. Donald S. Bitcon, 90 of Middletown, formerly of Portland, CT and Leesburg, FL, passed away June 16 2017 at Middlesex Hospital, surrounded by his loving family. Don was predeceased by his wife of 62 years, Joanne (Andersen) Bitcon. Born on May 5, 1927 in Lynbrook, NY, he lived in Portland since 1965, then moved to Leesburg, FL in 1994, until moving to Middletown 4 years ago. Donald leaves his son, Donald "Dann" Bitcon Jr. and Tabatha McLellan of Erving, MA, daughters, Donna B. Amato and her husband Edward of Middletown and Deborah B. Franklin and her husband Craig of Portland, a brother, Neal Bitcon and his wife Patricia of NY, sisters, Paula Smith and her husband Glen of AL and Janet Groth of NY, 11 grandchildren; Jennifer Wells and her husband Dan Parrelli, Michael Wells and his wife Tammy Rowe, Elizabeth Knox and her husband Jonathan, David Turano and his wife Shetal, Alicia Weckesser and her husband Jerry, Daniel Bitcon, Samuel Bitcon, Katherine Bitcon, Kelly Nordstrom and her husband Nicholas, Carissa Thisdale, and Meaghan Franklin, 11 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his infant daughter, Linda and by his sons, David and Dean. A Memorial service celebrating Donald's life will be held at the convenience of the family. Burial will be private.
