Richard "Dickie" Gotta, 70, of Portland, passed away (after a brief illness) on Friday September 30, 2022. Born November 12, 1951, in Middletown, CT, he was the son of the late Robert Gotta, Sr. and Helen Gotta. Dickie graduated from Portland High School in 1970 and dedicated his life's work to Gotta's Farm Stand, a multigenerational family farm, established by his great-grandfather in 1898. Dickie first worked alongside his father, his mother, and then his wife and children, passing on his extensive experience and knowledge of farming to his children. Dickie is survived by his wife Jackie and their children Elizabeth and R.J. of Portland; son Chris Gotta; grandson Ian Gotta; and his brother Robert (Bobby) Gotta, Jr., and his companion Linda Gajevski of Woodbury; and many other family and friends. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Thursday, October 6th at 10 a.m. in St. Mary's Church, 51 Freestone Avenue, Portland, followed by burial at St. Mary Cemetery, Portland. Arrangements are under the direction of the Portland Memorial Funeral Home, 231 Main St., Portland. There are no calling hours. Mildred C. Day, 85, of Portland, predeceased by her best friend Don Moores, wife of the late James Day, passed away on Sunday, September 18, in Middletown. She was born on January 22, 1937 in Middletown and was the daughter of the late Burr and Myrtle (Barker) Jordan.
She had lived in Portland most of her life and enjoyed gardening and the outdoors.
Mildred is survived by her loving family; four daughters and sons-in-law: Sheila and John Dorgeloh of FL, Donna and Steve Duteau of TN, Jamie Cupples of TN, and Arleen and Rich Milardo of Middletown. She had seven grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren, as well as several nieces and nephews. Mildred was predeceased by four sisters: Alice Becket, Laura Amatore, Caroline Day, and Grace Lombardo and two brothers: Wilfred Jordan and Pike Jordan.
Graveside services will be held on Thursday, September 22nd at 10 a.m. in Center Cemetery, Portland. Friends may call at the Portland Memorial Funeral Home, 231 Main St., Portland on Wednesday September 21st from 4 to 6 p.m.
Vivian (Toot) Arrigoni, 87, passed away on September 15, 2022 at Marlborough Health Center. She was born on October 14, 1934 to Harry and Lillian Ferry of South Glastonbury (Nayaug Farm). She was the youngest of 16 children. Growing up, everyone had to work hard. But also there was loads of fun. Her family loved to tell and hear stories of “life on the farm”.
After graduating from Glastonbury High School, she worked for Aetna. She married Carl F. Arrigoni (deceased) in 1956 and had two children. Vivian, never without a job, became a successful business woman. She was always the life of the party and lived life to the fullest.
Vivian is survived by her son Carl A. Arrigoni of Atlanta, Georgia, and her daughter Theresa and son-in-law Jerome Zabiski of Portland. She has one granddaughter, Hannah Arrigoni of California. She is also survived by three sisters, Lovejoy, Bea, and Anne, and one brother Hank.
A Memorial Mass will be held on Monday, September 26th, at 10 a.m. in St. Mary's Church, Portland. Burial will be at a later date. The Portland Memorial Funeral Home, 231 Main St, Portland, is in charge of arrangements.

Patricia Ann Gallivan, 79, of Middletown, died peacefully at Middlesex Hospital on September 12, 2022, after a brief bout with pancreatic cancer.
Trish was born in Springfield, Massachusetts, on April 24, 1943, to Claire and T. Gerard Gallivan.
Trish spent much of her career as a nurse and nurse manager, serving Boston hospitals. Before retiring, she moved to Connecticut to be closer to her family and worked in the emergency department of Rockville General Hospital. She was an award-winning knitter, who loved to create masterpieces for family and friends. She volunteered at St. Pius X Church in Middletown as a Eucharistic minister, at local hospice chapters and the Red Cross.
She is survived by her brother, Thomas Gallivan, and his fiancée, Barbara Maloska of East Hampton; and three nieces: Elizabeth Koscinski and her son, Richard, of Glastonbury; Laurie Morin and her husband, Mark, and daughters, Kara and Kaytlin, of Enfield; Kelly Myers,and her husband, Randy, and their children, Kyle and Isla, of Glastonbury.
A memorial mass will be held on Monday, September 19that 10 a.m. in St. Pius X Church, Middletown. Burial will be in the family plot in St. Thomas Cemetery, West Springfield, MA at 1 p.m.
The Portland Memorial Funeral Home, 231 Main St., Portland, is in charge of arrangements.
