It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Dennis Kowalski, a cherished father, grandfather, brother, and friend, mailman and part time entrepreneur who left us peacefully due to heart failure at his home in Portland, CT, surrounded by love and memories.
Born in Meriden, CT, Dennis lived a life marked by profound dedication to his family, a passion for making his friends and family laugh, and a tireless work ethic. His journey through life was filled with the joy of singing, the warmth of friendships, and the unwavering commitment to his three children, who were the cornerstone of his existence. Dennis found solace and expression in music, often lighting up gatherings with his rendition of “Cherry Bomb” at karaoke nights, a testament to his vibrant spirit and love for life.
Despite facing the challenges that life presented, Dennis navigated his path with resilience and grace, often turning his struggles into lessons of strength and perseverance for his children. His friendly and approachable nature meant he never missed an opportunity to engage in lighthearted conversations, making lasting positive impressions on those he encountered. Dennis was a fixture in his community, known for his readiness to lend a hand and his innate ability to make others feel valued and understood.
At home, Dennis was the quintessential family man, dedicating countless hours to projects around the house, teaching his children the value of hard work, and instilling in them the importance of supporting one’s family through thick and thin. His legacy is one of love, determination, the joy of simple pleasures, and a job well done.
Dennis leaves behind a family who loved him: his children Ryan (Hannah) Kowalski, Kristen (Andy) Gibs, Kevin Kowalski, who were his pride and joy, his sister Joan Tribble, his niece Dawn Gray, his grandchildren Alex and Noah Gibs, and many friends & family who shared in the journey of life with him. He was predeceased by his parents Edward and Frances Kowalski, as well as his brothers Edward and Ronald Kowalski. His family along with all who knew Dennis, will miss his generous spirit, his laughter, and the comfort of his presence.
