David George Johnson, 75, of Portland, husband of 48 years to Barbara (Wade) Johnson, passed away on March 15th in Hartford. Born on June 28th, 1948 in Middletown, son of the late Frank L. and Harriette (Hurlburt) Johnson.
David graduated from Durham High School, Durham, CT in 1967. He obtained his BS from Central Connecticut State University majoring in accounting. David started working in the composing room at the Middletown Press, eventually becoming Assistant Business Manager. David and Barbara met while they were both working at the Middletown Press. He went on to hold other accounting jobs throughout the years ending his career as Controller at Prototype Plastic & Mold Company in Middletown, retiring in 2020.
David is also survived by his daughters: Dawn Elizabeth Whelan & Francis Whelan III; Jennifer Lynn Johnson & Bryann Blair; Kortney Johnson Holland & Matthew Holland. Also his grandchildren: Victoria Anne Satagaj Post & John Post (Theodore & Logan); Kathryn Elizabeth Satagaj Gerte & Tom Gerte (Eden); Raymond Michael Satagaj & Malvina Reinhold Satagaj (Bjorn, Freja, Alva); Emily Hope Whelan & partner, Danny Ferrante; Lee Everette Holland & Kolbie Mae Holland.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, March 29th at twelve noon at the Portland Memorial Funeral Home, 231 Main St., Portland. Friends may call at the funeral home on Saturday morning from 10 a.m. until time of the service. Burial will be private.
It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Robert (Bob) C. Webster Jr., who passed away peacefully surrounded by family and friends on March 11th at the age of 61 after a long battle with esophageal cancer. He was a loving husband, father, son and uncle known for his sense of humor, big heart, sensitive soul and unwavering strength. He is survived by his wife, Laurie, his daughters Brianne and Erin, his mother Bunnie, his sister Robin and nieces Caelen and Grace. He is also survived by numerous cousins, aunts and uncles and was predeceased by his father, Robert Webster Sr. Bob was born and raised in Middletown, Connecticut and worked as an electrician at CBRE. Throughout the years, Bob was incredibly grateful to have gained many friends who also became his family. He was surrounded by love throughout his battle until the end.
Funeral services will be held at 12 noon on Saturday, March 22nd in the Portland Memorial Funeral Home, 231 Main Street, Portland. Friends may call at the funeral home on Saturday from 10am until the time of the service.
