Anthony V. DiFusco Sr. passed away on Oct. 2nd just two months shy of his 91st birthday. "Tony", as he was known, was born on November 30th, 1940 in New Britain and lived the last ten years of his life in Middletown.
Tony was hard working and dedicated. He spent 20 years working as a Recruiter and then Supply Sergeant for the Connecticut Army Reserve National Guard. Prior to his service with the National Guard, Tony spent four years in the Army and served his country in the Korean Conflict. He retired from the National Guard with the rank of Sergeant First Class.
Tony was predeceased by his son Michael, loving sisters Susan (Susie) and Irene and his brother Joseph. Family was everything to Tony and he leaves behind his son, Tony Jr., daughter Terri Lee (DiFusco) Benoit, grandchildren Ryan DiFusco, Brittany (DiFusco) Pelletier, Kyle Benoit and Shelby Benoit. He also leaves four great-grandchildren; Noah, Nikolas, and Nathan DiFusco and Kallahan Pelletier. Tony will be greatly missed by his many nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews. Uncle Tony was a favorite with them and he loved being with all of them at family gatherings.
Tony's love for singing was something he shared with his children and anyone he met, leaving a mark on us that will never fade. Tony was not shy in sharing his talent and would often sing at a local diner over their intercom entertaining whoever happened to be dining there. His serenading family at various gatherings will be sorely missed.
