Lillian Carnright Parrish

Lillian Carnright Parrish

Lillian Carnright Parrish

Lillian grew up in Watertown, CT and was a long-time resident of Terryville where she and her husband Harold raised their four daughters: Cathy, Laurie, Nancy and Susan. Lil was a dedicated and loving wife and mother. She retired from the State of Connecticut DMR where she worked with children with developmental disabilities.

Lil was most recently of Mount Dora, FL until returning to Connecticut in 2023. In Florida she enjoyed attending country music shows, baking and shopping. Although she considered herself a very shy person, she liked meeting new people and visiting in the aisles of her favorite stores. She was an avid cookie baker - her yummy cookies are remembered by many, and she took great pride in creating beautiful raffle baskets to benefit the Sunshine Opry. She and husband Mike also enjoyed spending time at their camp in Ausable Forks, NY.

Lillian is survived by two daughters: Nancy DiGirolamo (Tom) of Portland, CT and Laurie Edwards (Dale) of Enfield, NH; six grandchildren: Scott Wedge (Ashley), Brian Wedge (Gabby), Daniel Garrison Edwards (Libby), Bethany Bayuk (Nate), Taylor Scovill (John), and Zack DiGirolamo (Devin); nine great-grandchildren; her brother Fred McGoldrick (Dale) of Southington, CT, several nieces and nephews, and her good friend Truman Cook of Florida.

Lil was predeceased by her husbands, Harold Carnright (1988) and Michael Parrish (2015); and by two daughters, Cathy Wedge (1990) and Susan Carnright (2018).

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, November 22ndat 10 a.m. in the Portland Memorial Funeral Home, 231 Main St., Portland. Burial will be in Swedish Cemetery, Portland. Friends may call at the funeral home on Saturday morning from 9:30 a.m. until time of service.

Joseph Rocco Cannata of Pompano Beach, FL entered into eternal rest on Saturday, November 1st at the age of 41. Born on August 22nd, 1984, he was the miracle son of Palma Rose (Todaro) and Joseph Cannata, who predeceased “Joey” in 1990 when he was 5 years old. Joey attended Portland schools graduating in 2002 and then continued on and graduated from New England Technical Institute. He was a self-employed home improvement contractor of Cannata Home Improvements. Besides his mother he leaves behind his wife, Erin Novo and his most precious two-year old daughter, Maya Rose Cannata, who he adored more than words could ever convey. He also leaves his Godparents, Rocco and Kerri Todaro, Uncle Joey and Auntie Denise Todaro, and a multitude of cousins and friends, each of whom he loved and deeply cherished in his life. We pray for Joey’s soul in heaven where he will now rest in eternal peace with his father, Joseph and his grandparents, Midge and Josephine Cannata and Joseph and Santa Todaro.
